BC Live is seeking committed, thoughtful, and strategic individuals to join our Board of Directors.
Are you passionate about performing arts, festivals, governance, strategy and leadership? Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer in a role which will provide you with a sense of purpose and enable you to share your expertise and contribute your value towards supporting the performing arts and festivals sector across British Columbia?
As a Board Member, you will play a key governance and stewardship role, helping guide BC Live’s strategic direction, organizational health, and long-term sustainability. Working collaboratively with fellow directors and staff leadership, you will contribute insight, oversight, and advocacy in support of BC Live’s mission and goals.
Term: 2 years (April 2026 – 2028)
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours/month, including monthly Board meetings and events (e.g. Pacific Contact, AGM).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and sound governance oversight
- Support and advance BC Live’s mission, vision, and values
- Champion equity, inclusion, and representation across the sector
- Strengthen relationships with partners, funders, and the broader arts and festivals community
- Participate actively in board meetings, committees, and strategic initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, particularly those connected to or passionate about the performing arts and festivals ecosystem. Experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset:
- Performing arts, festivals, or cultural industries
- Governance, policy, or board leadership
- Finance, legal, fundraising, or organizational sustainability
- Equity, accessibility, and community engagement
- Strategic partnerships and advocacy
Prior board experience is valued but not required. Commitment, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
