About BC Live

BC Live Performance Network is a vibrant network organization that provides a variety of programs and services both online and in-person including our annual showcase, and professional development conference, Pacific Contact.

The BC Live staff team, board and members are grateful to live, work, and be in relation with people from across many traditional and unceded territories, covering all regions of British Columbia. We are honoured to live on this land and are committed to reconciliation, decolonization, and building relationships in our communities.


Purpose

The BC Live Performance Network supports and promotes a vibrant, diverse and inclusive performing arts and festival sector through showcasing, knowledge sharing, resources, training & development and advocacy.

Vision

Growing a sustainable and healthy performing arts and festival ecosystem to advance the quality of life, health and well-being of artists, administrators, technicians and audiences in communities across BC.

Mission

Raise awareness and understanding of the economic, cultural and social benefits of the performing arts and festivals sector among partners, funders and the public.

Create strategic partnerships with provincial, national and international partners in the arts and culture sectors and the music and tourism industries.

Connect the diverse performing arts and festival communities by convening meetings at provincial and regional levels and making space for equity-seeking groups.

Educate and engage the sector by sharing resources, hosting conferences, showcases and symposia and offering professional development, seminars and learning opportunities.

Advocate on behalf of the performing arts and festival sector to ensure ongoing government and other funders’ support.
