Celebrating 50th Years

BC Live, originally founded as the BC Touring Council in 1976, has supported professional touring and presenting across British Columbia for 50 years.

Created to strengthen the province’s live performing arts sector, BC Live promotes collaboration, professional development, and connection among artists, presenters, and industry professionals. As we mark this milestone anniversary, we remain dedicated to advancing BC’s vibrant cultural landscape through ongoing support of the live performing arts.

BC Live’s 50th Anniversary: Share Your Memories

To mark this special milestone, we’re gathering memories to share, creating a timeline that captures BC Live’s history, and hosting a 50th Anniversary dinner at Pacific Contact in Snuneymuxw / Nanaimo.

We invite past and current members, showcase artists, staff, board members, and sector colleagues to share your favourite BC Live, Pacific Contact, touring, or presenting-in-BC memory from the past 50 years. Your memory could be an unforgettable showcase or performance, how BC Live helped your career, a meaningful relationship you developed or a favourite touring story.

We encourage you to submit images, videos, testimonials or stories. They may be shared in some of the following:

  • website and newsletters
  • Pacific Contact 2026 Program Guide
  • conference and annual reports
  • social media
  • as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations and dinner at Pacific Contact 2026
