Gretchen Ferguson – Vantage Point Staff Facilitator

Gretchen Ferguson is Vantage Point’s Director of Education and Consulting. She is a dynamic
leader with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and higher education sectors in
Canada and internationally. She specializes in program and curriculum development,
strategic planning, and impact evaluation, with a strong focus on fostering diversity, equity,
and inclusion (DEI) to drive systemic change. She has led impactful initiatives, including the
development of a DEI assessment tool for Canadian financial institutions and an innovative
training program to foster community-led economic development in Bolivia.
Known for her strategic vision and collaborative leadership, Gretchen is deeply committed to
creating inclusive environments that empower teams and communities.
J. Kevin Barlow – Vantage Point Associate Facilitator

J. Kevin Barlow is a seasoned senior executive with more than 21 years of CEO and Executive
Director leadership in the Indigenous non-profit sector. A Mi’kmaw leader with national and
international experience, he has spent over three decades forming, growing, and strengthening
organizations that serve Inuit, Métis, and First Nations communities. Kevin founded the
Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network and later served as CEO of the Metro Vancouver Aboriginal
Executive Council, where he expanded the organization from a half-time position to an 18-
person team and established the Metro Vancouver Indigenous Services Society with a $1.1M
annual budget. His leadership is marked by deep expertise in Indigenous governance,
reconciliation, culturally grounded service delivery, and strategic organizational development.
