Call for Assessors – BC Live Funding Programs

BC Live seeks presenters, festival organizers, performing artists, agents/managers, and arts administrators to serve on the assessment panels for the 2026-27 intakes of the Community Presenters Assistance (CPA) and Into the Act funding programs. Both programs are delivered in partnership with the Province of BC and the BC Arts Council. The 2026-27 intake for these programs will be launched in April 2026.

Assessors are instrumental in deciding which applicants are funded. Assessors benefit by:

  • Career development, connecting with colleagues while contributing to the sector.
  • Knowledge of grant processes and grant writing skills.
  • Gaining insights about the scope of presenting and touring activities in BC.
  • Providing feedback and input to refine and improve program criteria to better serve applicants in future.
  • Assessors receive compensation for their time.

Meeting dates/times (note these dates/times are not flexible)
Meetings are held on Zoom. You must be available on these dates to apply.
Into the Act:  Monday, July 20 & Tuesday, July 21 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on both days
Community Presenter Assistance: Monday, August 10, Tuesday, August 11 & Wednesday, August 12 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on all days

Who Should Apply
BC Live seeks presenters, festival organizers, performing artists, agents/managers, and arts administrators. We encourage and prioritize Indigenous artists and arts administrators, Knowledge Keepers, Elders, Black and people of colour, those who are deaf and experienced disability and LGBTQ2SIA+ and those from rural and remote communities.

Not suitable for
Members of the BC Live Board of Directors are not eligible to apply. We also try to limit conflicts of interest, so those representing applicants to either program should be aware that they may not be chosen as assessors for this reason. Artists or their representatives with limited experience in touring and presenting networks in BC may find this role challenging.

How to apply
Apply at this link by Friday, April 24. Those who submitted interest would hear back by Friday, May 1. Please note that submitting an interest form does not guarantee participation, as we have limited spaces.
