Award to Host Cultural Events

As part of our commitment to advancing reconciliation, BC Live is offering one award of $2,500 towards cultural events during the week of National Indigenous People’s Day in June 2026 (June 15-21). BC Live presenters and festival members are eligible for funding to advance local healing and reconciliation initiatives and to celebrate Indigenous peoples’ unique cultures and outstanding achievements.

How Will Applications be Assessed?

A committee of our Board of Directors, will review applications and adjudicate the award. The committee will consider how the proposed event contributes to local healing and reconciliation and the scope and impact of the proposal.

Priority will be given to applications supported by an Indigenous community or those submitted by an Indigenous presenter or festival.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

BC Live Presenter or Festival members can apply for one award of $2,500. The application form must be submitted by Friday, February 13, 2026. All applications will be acknowledged by email.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by email by March 6, 2026. The successful recipient will be asked to acknowledge support and to submit a one-page report with images/photos following the event(s).

  • June 21, 2026 – National Indigenous People’s Day
