Call for Assessors

BC Live seeks presenters, festival organizers, performing artists, agents/managers and arts administrators to serve on the assessment panels for current intakes of Community Presenters Assistance (CPA) and Into the Act funding programs. Both programs are delivered in partnership with the Province of BC and the BC Arts Council.

Assessors are instrumental in deciding which applicants are funded. Assessors benefit by:

  • Career development, connecting with colleagues while contributing to the sector.
  • Knowledge of grant processes and improved grant writing skills.
  • Gaining insights about the scope of presenting and touring activities in BC.
  • Providing feedback and input to refine and improve program criteria to better serve applicants in future.
  • Assessors receive compensation for their time.
Meeting dates (note these dates/times are not flexible):
Into the Act: Tuesday, August 12 & Wednesday, August 13 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Community Presenter Assistance: Monday, September 8, Tuesday, September 9 & Wednesday, September 10 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

We encourage and prioritize Indigenous artists and arts administrators, Knowledge Keepers, Elders, Black and people of colour, those who are deaf and experienced disability and LGBTQ2SIA+ assessors. Please note that members of the BC Live Board of Directors are not eligible to apply to be an assessor. We also try to limit conflicts of interest, so those representing applicants should be aware that they may not be chosen as assessors for this reason.

Please note that submitting an interest form does not guarantee participation, as we have limited spaces on an annual basis. Apply by Friday, June 20.
